PLUM BLOSSOM JADE DESCRIPTION :

The first Emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD) named Plum Blossom Jade a “national treasure”. It is a type of Jade that originates from the border area between Ruzhou and Rurang, Henan Province. Often called Ru Jade or Ru Stone, this unique material is technically neither jasper or jade, but actually geologically classified as an amygdaloidal andesite that forms when lava / magma from a volcano cools and minerals collect inside cooled air bubbles.

Plum blossom jade is created from ancient volcanic magma where trapped gas bubbles formed pores that later filled with secondary mineral deposits like plagioclase, creating flower-like spots. It typically features a dark Blueish or earthy matrix contrasted with white, green, pink, or reddish flower inclusions resembling blossoming plum branches. The red and pink blossom inclusions are caused by iron-rich compounds like iron oxide or ferruginous agate; the green and yellow formed by chlorite or epidote deposits; and the white and clear made up of quartz, calcite, or feldspar. The stones have tortuous micro-cracks and branch-like veins running through the matrix resembling tree branches.

CLEANSING AND CHARGING PLUM BLOSSOM JADE :

Mix lukewarm water with a tiny drop of gentle soap. Dampen a soft cloth or very soft-bristle toothbrush and gently wipe the stone and its tight spots. Rinse the stone under lukewarm running water. Completely pat dry with a clean, soft microfiber towel. Never use harsh chemicals, bleach, strong detergents, or abrasive pads. Also avoid salt scrubs and salt baths. Salt can scratch or dull the natural finish. Do not soak in water for long periods of time. Do not use heat or steam to clean. Extreme heat or sudden temperature shifts can stress the stone. Avoid contact with hard surfaces, and take care not to subject to hard bumps or sharp blows.

Be sure to energetically cleanse your Plum Blossom Jade when received, and charge with your own energy and intentions. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a White, Pink, or Green candle. Place in a (preferably Selenite or Clear Quartz, just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if wearing for receiving intentions) or right hand (if wearing for emitting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy onto the stones for half an hour.

Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in rainwater) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place on top of a bed of sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours.

Because your gemstones can absorb negative energy, avoid allowing others to touch or handle them and be sure to cleanse regularly. Recharge as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the earth for a day or two.
