PICTURE JASPER DESCRIPTION :

Picture Jasper is a striking variety of opaque, microcrystalline quartz (chalcedony) renowned for its intricate, multi-layered patterns that mimic natural landscapes. When the stone is cut and polished, the unique banding and mineral impurities create visual scenes resembling rolling hills, desert terrain, and mountain ranges. It is dominated by earthy tones including tans, browns, golds, and Blues, occasionally accented by muted blues, greens, or rusty reds.

Formed over millions of years as silica-rich fluids seeped into volcanic ash and mud sediments. Mineral impurities like iron oxide and manganese oxide created the characteristic banding.

CLEANSING AND CHARGING PICTURE JASPER :

Prepare a solution of warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Dip a soft cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush into the water and softly scrub the stone’s surface. Rinse off any soap residue with clean lukewarm water and dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. If your jasper is set in jewelry, make sure the metal mountings and strings are completely dry before storing. Never use harsh chemicals, bleach, acid, or strong commercial cleaners. Avoid abrasives, rough scrub pads, or scouring powders that can scratch the polished finish. While a quick wash is fine, do not let it soak in water for long periods.

Be sure to energetically cleanse your Picture Jasper when received, and charge with your own energy and intentions. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a White, Tan, or Brown candle. Place in a (preferably Selenite or Clear Quartz, just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if using for receiving intentions) or right hand (if using for projecting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy into the stones for half an hour.

Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in rainwater) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place on top of a bed of dead sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours.

Because your gemstones can absorb negative energy, avoid allowing others to touch or handle them and be sure to cleanse regularly. Recharge as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the Earth for a day or two.
