AVENTURINE DESCRIPTION :

The name Aventurine derives from the Italian word a ventura, which means “by chance”. Aventurine is a form of quartz, characterized by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence. The most common color of Aventurine is green, but it can also be orange, brown, yellow, blue, or gray. Chrome-bearing fuchsite (a variety of muscovite mica) is the classic inclusion and gives a silvery green or blue sheen. Oranges and browns are attributed to hematite or goethite. Aventurine is often banded and an overabundance of fuchsite may render it opaque, in which case it may be mistaken for malachite at first glance.

CLEANSING AND CHARGING

Use lukewarm water and mild, unscented soap. Scrub gently with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. Rinse it briefly under clean running water. Dry completely with a soft towel. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or ultrasonic cleaners. Do not use heat or steam to clean. Avoid prolonged soaking because the stone contains tiny mineral inclusions. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Avoid contact with hard surfaces, and take care not to subject to hard bumps or sharp blows.

Be sure to energetically cleanse your Aventurine when received, and charge with your own energy and intentions. Use your feather fan to waft over it the smoke of purifying incense. Use sound vibrations from a singing bowl, bells, or tingsha chimes while quickly and carefully passing through the flame of a Green candle. Place in a (preferably Selenite or Clear Quartz, just not any kind of metal) bowl on top of a bed of dead sea salt and leave soaking in the moonlight for at least four hours. Remove from the bowl, rinse for 30 seconds in (ideally natural, like a stream or in the rain) running water, then gently dry with a cloth (BE CAREFUL with stones that may easily scratch). Hold in your left hand (if wearing for receiving intentions) or right hand (if wearing for emitting intentions) and meditate your intentions and energy onto the stones for half an hour.

Alternatively, cleanse by smudging then holding under running water (or leaving out in rainwater) for at least 30 seconds, dry, and gently place on top of a bed of sea salt on a windowsill after sunset for a few hours.

Because your gemstones can absorb negative energy, avoid allowing others to touch or handle them and be sure to cleanse regularly. Recharge as needed by placing in the sunlight or moonlight for a few hours, or by burying in the earth for a day or two.
